BSBTAVINYL2: Elektronavn / Exquisite Russian Brides - 7" - Elektronavn "Cosmic Depth/A Sense of Coherence" - Exquisite Russian Brides "Golden Rain Over Fascist Europe" A perfect match between two (still quite different) meditative dronescape/avant-psych pieces from two of Denmark's finest in that field. Loops, zurna, bansuri, cello, bells, vocals and xylophone are utilized. Magic is made. Each cover is lino-printed, so (exciting) irregularities are to be expected. BSBTAVINYL1: Antenne / cryptic scenery - 7" - Antenne "Long to Kiss" - cryptic scenery "Escape" This first offering from BSBTA Vinyl contains two artists showcasing some of their absolute best songs (according to me... well, and them). Ethereal lo-fi, electronic intimacy, female vocals, male vocals, mindblowing guitar-isms. Band pages: Antenne / cryptic scenery |

ABOS133: Cherry Creepage / Nufenen "Split" - cd-r In conjuction with their gig in Lugano, Switzerland on June 7th, 2008, we are releasing this special (unknown edition) split between Cherry Creepage (distorted, wacked out, ultra lo-fi drum machine-driven teenage breakdowns) and Nufenen (heavy, minimalist danse macabre rock 'n' roll). Each spraypainted cover is unique, by the way. Listen: Cherry Creepage @ MySpace / Nufenen @ MySpace |

ABOS131: 6majik9 "Black Sattva" - cd-r Breathing sattvic fire while floating on a mystic lake of pseudo-jazz, everyone's favourite mostly anonymous Australian conspirators deliver the goods on their Scandinavian debut. Mellow and weird, this 4 track, 43-minute opus of percussive wyrld jamz, intricate improv, abrasive rawk and laid back lunacy is presented in a gatefold cover with hand painted/stamped abstract imagery inside. Listen: 6majik9 @ MySpace |

ABOS127: Monks of the Balhill / A Man & A Guitar "Beyond the Map" - cd-r This French 'desert-folk' offering contains four consciousness-expanding collaborative tracks, in addition to a pair of solo AM&AG pieces and a (crazy) diamond from MOTB. Haunted acoustic twangin', electrified yelps and angel dust bunnies playing recorders. Cover art by Monsieur Redon (and others.) Listen: MOTB @ MySpace / AM&AG @ MySpace |

|
ABOS123: Dead Black Arms / My Love We Found the Skies "Black Visions White Versions" - 2 cd-r A massive double dose of oscillating drones, ear-tickling tones and, most of all, minimalist meditative synthetics, from the multi-faceted Claus Haxholm. Limited edition of 40, in hand stamped Stumpdown jackets. Listen: DBA @ MySpace |

|
ABOS119: The President's Heart "The End of the World" - cd-r Here, the mystical Danes of The President's Heart offer one last look into their left-field world of wonder. Dronetastic outdoor recordings are mixed with spoken word oddness, scrapheap percussion, psych-goth dreaminess (for you to wrap your troubles in), and mesmerizing melodic folk. An apocalyptic autumnal auralgasm; an art exhibit for your mind. Listen: TPH @ MySpace |

|
ABOS118: Inhibitionists & Rough Ride of Crafts "Wendigo in the Church of Merriment" - cd-r The once-again-solo Inhibitionists outfit spent roughly a year collaborating with the Rough Ride of Crafts 'collective', long distance - resulting in a spooky, offbeat mish mash of no-fi noise, stoner electronics, tape collages, pseudo hip hop and acid folk-fueled semi-songs. Listen: Inhibs @ MySpace / RROC @ MySpace |
7.50 EUR |
|
ABOS117: Vlubä "7op" - cd-r New far out exaltations from this Buenos-Aires-by-way-of-the-Moon combo. Shamanic space-rock jams and electro-fied free psychedelia, garnished with savage drumming and noisy toys... all packaged in a fake fur clad cover (with apologies to Efterklang), inside a poly bag. Listen: Vlubä @ MySpace |

|
DOOR130: Le Panda Bleme et le Lolicocks "Clack Black" - cd-r Finally, the debut from these BSBTA Blog faves. Rockin' the L.A. riotboi artcore thing, Le Panda Bleme (aka. BJ Panda Bear) and his merry Lolicocks (Miss Black and Nico N.) produce, here, an upfront, often hypersexual mixture of malfunctioning laptop jams, noise-punk and dark theatrics. Comes in a flexible, bondage-esque, staple-adorned CD case. Listen: Le Panda Bleme @ MySpace |
7.50 EUR |
|
DOOR126: Konrad Korabiewski "Stateless" - CD A selection of recordings made between 1998 and 2008, forming a surprisingly flawless opus. The album's title signifies Korabiewski's own sense of ”disbelonging”, and, stylistically, "Stateless" does - rightfully so - combine moody Eastern European lo-fi-meets-hi-fi dance music with Scandinavian idiosyncrasies. Pixie-dust beats, zany synths and warped broadcasts from the Planet Lodz, resulting in avantgarde electronic pop music pieces for techno-happy melody fiends and interstellar noise/drone buffs alike. In addition to eight such tracks (plus a curious interlude), the handsomely packaged CD contains a remix by none other than German lap-pop superstar Schneider TM. Listen: Konrad K @ MySpace |

|
DOOR122: cryptic scenery "On the Outskirts" - CD Fifty four minutes of intense beauty, terror, melancholy, minimalism and thrilling melodies, with eclectic swirls of goth-prog, avant-drone, psychedelic rock and techno, along with the inimitable voice of Mr. Sötemann. Listen: cryptic scenery @ MySpace |

DOOR115: Mechanical Bird "11 Songs For Perchers" - CD A unique, warm, enchanting home recorded folk / singer-songwriter / Americana-influenced album from Jakob Brixen (Manuskript), lyrically and thematically of a spiritual nature; the songs' experimental elements - singing saw, music box, electronics, etc. - are quirky, yet complementing. Comes in a beautifully handmade / printed digifile-esque CD wallet with booklet. Limited to approx. 275 copies. Listen: Mechanical Bird @ MySpace |

WHOA135: Younolovebunny "Albummet der ændrede verden" - cd-r Out of nowhere comes this monstrous 29 track collection of possibly everything Claus 'Younolovebunny' Frøhlich recorded during his stay in Salzburg, Austria. A manically creative period for sure. And yes, this album is uneven, eclectic (from '90s slacker rock to ear-gasmic shoegaze to gentle acoustic folk to amusing electronic effects), and undeniably lo-fi (recording volumes sometimes vary dramatically), but it's also 29 singles that stand well on their own. Oh yeah, and: a tracklist was purposely omitted, and the cd-r is limited to 12(!) copies. "Albummet der ændrede verden" = "The Album That Changed the World". Listen: Younolovebunny @ MySpace |

WHOA132: Body Lotion and the Bloody Hands "Screamfest" - cd-r One of the most unique Danish pop bands in recent memory (and definitely one of the best ever, lyrically). Five songs and a remix fire up this brief but enjoyable freakout of an E.P., where sophisticated horror-pop meets anti-twee dancehall disco. Craaazy good. Listen: BLATBH @ MySpace |
3.50 EUR |
WHOA121: The Up Set "Making a Connection With the Ground" - cd-r The first American (well, the first non-Danish) band to grace the w-o-h! catalog is The Up Set - usually a solo outfit for K.B. Blankson, but here, he's accompanied by a backing band. And compared to previous stellar lo-fi/twee releases from K.B., this pro-printed cd-r is a pleasantly surprising upgrade - to charming, amped up indie pop/rock. Let's make a connection with the dancefloor! Comes with a 1" button. Listen: The Up Set @ MySpace |

WHOA120: The Dear Elaines "Celebrate the New Season" - cd-r A reissue of The Dear Elaines' second (originally self released, and somewhat overlooked) cd-r. Again, a brief collection of songs influenced by the best of singer-songwriter-ish/soft-pop/anglo-pop circa '65-'95... with plenty of dream-like harmonies and odd static-drenched experiments. Listen: The Dear Elaines @ MySpace |
5.00 EUR |
|
WHOA116: Low Fire "The Second Shortcoming" - cd-r Niklas Steffensen H. has been lo-fi rockin' since the turn of the century. "The Second Shortcoming" is all about emotive acoustic songs, abrasive guitar pop, drum machine-led indie rock love anthems, and so much more! The 25 "new" songs (dated 2004 to 2006) are each of an impressively high standard, both melodically and lyrically. Listen: Low Fire @ MySpace |

WHOA113: The Dear Elaines "Whatsoever-Never" - cd-r Five superb songs brimming with British Invasion-esque fuzz-pop stylings (and vocal harmonies). Acoustic, electric... fantastic. Long live The Dear Elaines... and his tape recorder! Listen: The Dear Elaines @ MySpace |

WHOA112: Melvis & the Papercuts "Melvis and the Papercuts" - cd-r Melvis (Anders Hald Jensen) has a knack for writing very fine lo-fi pop melodies. This collection is a smooth and sultry example. Guest musicians / producers include prolific Århus indie darlings Mr. Q (aka. Qlauz) and Johannes Gammelby (I Am Bones). Listen: Melvis @ MySpace |

3S3TA6: The Organsation of Sound / Exquisite Russian Brides / Inhibitionists / The Doom Riot / Forehammer & Suture "Au revoir, 3S3TA" - 3" Our sixth and final 3" cd-r: a mini-collection of new material from the artists featured on the previous five 3S3TA discs. Dreamy and/or dark psychedelics for the Summer of '08 (and beyond?), strictly limited to 50 copies! And that is indeed a photo of a dead, bleeding pigeon on the front cover. |

3S3TA5: Demented Stallion / Casio Explorer / Fra Blokland Til Blokland "Broken Hearts & Broken Minds Meet in the All-White Hospital & They Hug in Secret Silence Ignored by the Outside World" - 3" A selection of Kristian Thomsen's numerous projects, in glorious mono (as certain crunchy frogs would say). Demented Stallion = meditative dronecraft via guitar effects and feedback. Casio Explorer = lo-fi Ariel-Pink-meets-Martin-Rev darkwave, with vocals (yes, and a Casio keyboard). Fra Blokland Til Blokland = sinister, often minimal electronica - enchanting and in yr face. |

3S3TA4: Kanada Brothers / Josef Efraim Hudson / but his hands were tiny and so she said "Several Days Spent in a Suburban Home" - 3" Two of Claus Haxholm's more obscure solo projects appear here along with his best known. Kanada Brothers is sine-based drones, Josef blesses us with fearless deconstructionist electro(nic)acoustics, and bhhwtasss is, here, at his most calm and accessible, with several popular favourites for you to enjoy. |

3S3TA3: Veguitar / Branta Ïx / The Inhibitionists "Appetite For Self Destruction" - 3" After a two year hiatus, BSBTA's 3S3TA series returns with a three-way-split between label founder Christian Kann's own musical projects. Veguitar's "Svovlsyretrip" (a sulphuric acid trip!) is a collage of off-kilter acoustic Danish-language songs (and effects). Branta Ïx computes and rocks home. The Inhibitionists collaborate with collaborators and him/it-self. As if the music wasn't enough to get you excited (ahem), the cover art is printed directly on abstract watercolour paintings, making each cover unique. |

BSBTA #105: Kristian Thomsen "Outspoken" - cd-r Full colour covers in a jewelcase. Five hard-edged, yet (semi)melodic minimal techno tracks, followed by five intense industrial strength guitar rrrrock songs (four of those with vocals), and noise to boot. Everything's in mono (this album's working title was indeed "Monostatic"), and everything's in the red (or, at least, close to it)! MP3 samples: "Beyond the Realm of Time" / "Blue Suburbia" |

Lope: warm, dream-like, compositions, accentuated by electronics, light rhythms and melodica; yellow6: the world renouned ethereal guitars and meditative keyboards of Jon Attwood; Absent Without Leave: ambient-harmonic-drones-with-beats, perfect for relaxing; Kimonophonic: things are set on fire!, without sacrificing the exquisitely catchy harmonies that make up this solo artist's brand of analog indietronica. BSBTA #100: v/a: The Escape From Beer Mountain - cd-r Cardboard sleeves with stencilled artwork. A final, posthumous label sampler / souvenir compilation, belatedly celebrating BSBTA's 100th catalogue number (and 106th release, I believe). And yet, this eclectic sampler may also serve as an inexpensive introduction to artists you will likely hear from again in the future, via the A Beard of Snails, d'Oorhinge l'Orange or Workaholics on Holiday! labels. The past and the future collide - bringing you covers of other BSBTA artists' songs done by but his hands were tiny and so she said, David Neuer, Shaw, Younolovebunny, Inhibitionists and The President's Heart, as well as exclusive songs from the30es, cryptic scenery, Brumdrøn, Jacob Faurholt, tsk tsk tsk, Tilbury on Cloves and sfu·ma·to, plus a pair of cut-ups by Branta Ïx. BSBTA #98: Shaw "Happy Road" - cd-r Full colour covers in a jewelcase. Contains yet more pop hits, being a celebration of what the Fab Four revolutionized, but in the Shaw style we know and enjoy. Bits of classic UK blues rock, acoustic folk with brilliant vocal harmonies and drum machine-led laid back punk songs round off the album nicely. The late G. McLennan and, for that matter, the later J. Lennon would be proud. MP3 sample: "Wasted Lives" / "Desert Road" |

BSBTA #96: cryptic scenery "Seven Bars of Silence" - cd-r Full colour cover in a plastic sleeve. From cryptic-scenery.de: "yet another cd-r e.p. (not movie), and somewhat of a companion release to 'sedatives': five sparsely arranged, deserted & forlorn songs and a closing instrumental (a tiny tribute to the sadly deceased founder of the penguin cafe orchestra). the songs themselves span a long distance in time - the title track being a more recent composition, for example, whereas 'is it really so sad' goes back to about 1995. still i have tried to make the soundstage a largely coherent one: i notice that the interpretive approach has been dominated by a sense of starkness and urgency. what? er, go on..." BSBTA #84: Manuskript "Digt #1" - cd-r Handmade CD-sized spiral notebook-style cover. BSBTA #80: Muamua "Listen" - cd-r Full colour covers in a jewel case. A most brilliant piece of work. MP3 sample: "Symphony For the Krill" |

BSBTA #73: cryptic scenery "Sedatives" - cd-r Full colour cover in a plastic sleeve. A brief collection of intimate lo-fi recordings. The now classic "Sedatives" (here, a re-recording featuring electric guitar and more aggressive vocals) is followed by some equally fine guitar or piano driven songs - quite melodic and atmospheric. A perfect companion / epilogue to Ontic (BSBTA #56)... and an exciting prologue to cryptic scenery's next album, I guess! sample mp3: "More" |

BSBTA #58: Tilbury on Cloves "Tilbury on Cloves" - CD Factory pressed CD and offset printed artwork, in a jewelcase. The Greek duo Tilbury On Cloves' self-titled debut full length (after a number of compilation appearances and a split 7") is made up of a plethora of discreetly progressing dream-like cascades, gentle / experimental electro(nic) assaults and chiming nu-shoegazer passages, accented by demure, mopey vocals. Some will say "lo-fi post-goth", others will say "nu-gaze". We say "hurrah!"... while humbly categorizing it as an awesome example of Mediterranean "melancholia". sample mp3: "Paralyto" / "Road Aches" |

|
| BSBTA #56: cryptic scenery "Ontic" - CD Factory pressed CD and offset printed artwork, in a jewelcase. Everything is. As is Ontic. It's more song-oriented, intimate, and stripped down (especially, compared to the previous cryptic scenery release of new material, Four Crescent Figures (BSBTA #21)), yet there are plenty of directions to keep you happy here as well: from the reverb-laden "The Old Bike", to the spoken word / atmospheric keyboard piece "Loose Conception of Greenland", to the instrumental Frippertronics-esque "Omnipresent" (reminiscent of what you can hear on cs's 3-inch The Singing Machine, released on the RetinaScan label). Of course, Ontic is a 100% solo effort - with Christian H. Sötemann having written, played, sung and recorded everything. It's about minimalism, presence and being. And Ontic should perhaps be present in your collection too... sample mp3: "The Old Bike" / "Night City" |

BSBTA #21: cryptic scenery "Four Crescent Figures" - CD Factory pressed CD and offset printed artwork, in a jewelcase. Recorded on a four-track in the group's rehearsal room, yet displaying an incredibly full and fleshed out sound; their live sound has actually been reproduced well here. The album is their most heterogenous to date - with psyched-out guitar pieces, symphonically droning synths, sombre piano, melancholy indie rock and white noise. F | ||
