DOOR115: Mechanical Bird "11 Songs for Perchers" CD
Over the course of three years, Jakob Brixen recorded this fantastic
song-based album on his own (with guests adding vocals, piano and
drums) - a somewhat radical departure from what his group Manuskript did on their classic "Digt
#1" cd-r (BSBTA, 2005).
11 Songs is a unique, warm, enchanting
home recorded folk / singer-songwriter / Americana-inspired album,
lyrically and thematically of a spiritual nature. The experimental
elements in the songs - singing saw, music box, electronics, etc. - are
quirky, yet complementing.
Factory pressed CD in a beautifully handmade / printed digifile-esque
cover with booklet, limited to approx. 275 copies.

DOOR122: cryptic scenery "On the Outskirts" CD
Based in Berlin, cryptic scenery (aka. Christian H. Sötemann) has been
gracing our lives with minimalist soundscapes and ethereal songcraft
since 1994. After two full length albums and numerous EPs and
compilation appearances on BSBTA (2001-2006), we are delighted to have
cryptic scenery on d'Oorhinge l'Orange.
"On the Outskirts" is 54 minutes of intense beauty, terror, melancholy,
minimalism and thrilling
melodies, with eclectic swirls of goth-prog, drone, techno and psychedelic rock, along with the inimitable voice of CHS.
Limited edition of 300 factory pressed CDs.

DOOR125: Land Equivalents "Alpha Numeric Routines" CD-R
Jim Musgrave's instrumental project presents spy movie grooves, dubtastic basslines and infectious post-prog workouts heavy on the drums, vintage synths and Delia Derbyshire-esque quirks. Comes in a black digipak with pasted-on artwork.

DOOR126: Konrad Korabiewski "Stateless" CD
Polish-born, Copenhagen-based Konrad Korabiewski started experimenting with sound at a young age, and has, for the last 15 years or so (he's 30 now), worked with a plethora of audiovisual-related projects, while also hosting a radio show, DJing at clubs, and remixing such prominent Danish bands as Under Byen and Amstrong.
Stateless, Korabiewski's full length debut, is itself a selection of recordings done between 1998 and 2008. And yet, the resulting album is a surprisingly flawless opus. The album's title signifies Korabiewski's own sense of ”disbelonging”, and, stylistically, Stateless does - rightfully so - combine moody Eastern European lo-fi-meets-hi-fi dance music with Scandinavian idiosyncrasies. Pixie-dust beats, zany synths and warped broadcasts from the Planet Lodz, forming avantgarde electronic pop music pieces for techno-happy melody-fiends and interstellar noise/drone buffs alike.
Ten tracks, including a remix by Schneider TM. Factory pressed enhanced CD in a digipak.

DOOR130: Le Panda Bleme et le Lolicocks "Clack Black" CD-R
On this, their debut release, Beverly Hills' Le Panda Bleme et le Lolicocks mix minimalist glitchcore and semi-IDM un-indietronica with unschooled, idiosyncratic, often dischordant songcraft (not unlike Xiu Xiu, CocoRosie or Arthur Russell, but way more gritty.) The result is a harrowing avant youth riot, appealing to tweaking scene kids and free thinkers alike.

DOOR143: Fabio Zuffanti "Ir" CD-R
From prolific veteran Italian musician Fabio Zuffanti comes two lengthy, astounding, autumnal compositions - melodic, folkish, electronic, experimental, progressive, meditative... yet delightfully difficult to truly/fairly categorize.

DOOR301: Prester "Prester & Friends"
A miniature machine park of experimental/tuneful bliss from Frenchman Vincent Fribault (and guest musicians.) Many of you may be most familiar with Vincent through his work in the more psych/folk oriented Monks of the Balhill and The Cosmic Mandoliners ensembles, but on this E.P., recorded between 2001 and 2004, Prester travels a decidedly more post-pop route. Enjoyable, oui.

DOOR302: Funny Art Collective feat. Bjørn Svin "Purple Mandarin"
In contrast to most of their previous work, Northern Denmark's Funny Art Collective present, here, an overall melancholy (at times, semi goth/EBM) sound. Still, a lot of ground is covered on this 20-minute beauty, with its intoxicating electro-beats, humourous cut-up samples and fragile melodies. The FAC duo collaborate with Bjørn Svin (a veteran electronica/pop talent in his own rite) on the track "Diskas".

DOOR303: Manipulator Alligator "Harvest Famicom"
The latest from Kansas-based Matthew Hoppock's Manipulator Alligator project is a joint-tribute to the songs of PJ Famicom (aka. Super Famicom), and the Neil Young album "Harvest". From the rockin', to the sentimental, to the upbeat, this six-song, 16 minute EP unites the best of folktronica/indietronica/8-bit, with splendid singin'/songwritin' and whimsical experimentation.

DOOR304: Rimacona "Yume-No-Hotori"
Rimacona combine Japanese soft jazz-pop vocals/harmonies with fairytale-like ambience and glitchy goodness. A fantastic juxtaposition of dreamy '60s/'70s aesthetics and early 21st century music/technology.
(This was originally intended to be a single mini cd-r, but since the EP/mini-album's playing time exceeded the confines of one 3-inch, "Yume-No-Hotori" is released as double 3-inch, in a simple but elegant handmade cover.)

DOOR305: cryptic scenery "Early Morning Haze"
Containing remixed/reconstructed versions of four songs from the melodic, underrated "On the Outskirts" album (DOOR122), "Early Morning Haze" is not merely a natural companion piece to said album, but also, in itself, a resplendent testament to the ambient/minimalist music perfected by cryptic scenery (yet ever evolving) through the past six years especially.
