The third release of 2010 from the revitalized BSBTA will be from Shaw, titled "Ridiculous", due out sometime in August (further details soon.) Really excited about it!
Seeing as today (July 29) is the 120th anniversary of Vincent van Gogh's death (and the 14th of Hilary Pritchard's - the finest voice ever to come from the Isle of Man, well, besides the Bee Gees), one of the Shaw MP3s we've uploaded is "Fou Roux", a song about the great Dutch painter.

BSBTA #109: Shaw "Ridiculous"
(CD-R; full colour cover + lyrics in Super Jewel Box)
The fourth BSBTA album from (David) Shaw will be all about infectious acoustic atheist pop/folk songs (a couple of awesome rockers thrown in too!) Reflective home recorded gems indeed.
MP3 samples: Fou Roux / Gridlocked / No I Cannot See |

BSBTA #107: Paper Sessions "Goodnight Sunrise"
(CD-R; full colour cover in wraparound CD case)
Hyperdriven dance music, chill-fi electro, and totally rrrrippin' indie mope noise rock chimes from this Danish quintet (here, though, just S. Heggum and R. Drabe.) Goodnight Sunrise, the monster debut that it is, is both '80s neon boyish charm and '90s slacker-core, futurism, Madchester, Gore 'n' Gahan, Lee 'n' Thurston, skinny ties, plaid shirts, sneakergazing... a perfect collision of the homespun and the decadent. Contains such hits as "One I Love", "Skyline", "Plug Me In", "Melting", and more.
MP3 samples: Wake Up Call / Milady
Videos (earlier versions of songs): Plug Me In / Melting / One I Love |

BSBTA #108: The Original Beekeepers "Thirteens"
(CD-R; full colour cover in wraparound CD case)
Formed in London circa 1984 (as Shammy Leather - a moniker they still use), these gentlemen will be familiar to quite a few - notleast through their contributions to BSBTA compilations of yore. BSBTA are honoured to be issuing the O.B.s' appropriately titled thirteenth album - an amazing, eccentric hodge podge of pastoral pop (echoes of Syd? Bonzo Dog Band?), loopy minimalism, and found sounds. Vintage electronics, psychedelia, and decidedly non-pop compositions! Melodic genius... oh, it's all here (and you oughta hear the stuff that didn't make the final cut!)
MP3 samples: Beechams Powders/Lambert My Butler / Business Shower |
Bloated Sasquatch Beer Theatre Audio is back (for the moment), bringing you the finest in more-or-less experimental melodic music (you have my permission to call it pop.) Older, not necessarily wiser, and more streamlined and focused than probably ever before, but still all about DIY'ing it.
BSBTA may or may not be putting on a concert this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the label's formation... If anyone can help in any way (booking, etc.), we'd be grateful. There'll more than likely be something in 2011, BSBTA being partial to the number 11 and all.
Updates are announced here, as well as on BSBTA's on Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook pages.

Next up is the The Dear Elaines/Low Fire split 10" on the BSBTA Vinyl imprint - our 8th and final vinyl statement, bringing the p!o!p!...
Actual replicated CDs - who knows when - from sfu·ma·to (a CD reissue of the "Pockets of Resistance" CD-R) and a Christian H. Sötemann (cryptic scenery front man) retrospective compilation.

You're probably going to submit a demo to me whether or not I'm accepting submissions... so go ahead :-) I'll get back to you if I like your music and it suits BSBTA; no answer = "no thanks, nothing personal."
