july august 13, 2008! i've re-seen the future, baby...

- after our next two releases (a re-issue of the very first e.p. by the dear elaines, "sky baby conquest, perhaps", and, obviously, the "don't quit your holiday job" 2 cd-r compilation), workaholics on holiday! will take an extended break... hopefully returning some time in 2009, with go ahead and release another eight great indie pop releases and yet another 2 cd-r compilation (no further compilations) before taking an extended or permanent break. who knows how long it'll take us to find artists and release eight more cd-rs...


june 23, 2008! one for now, one for later

- out of nowhere comes a new younolovebunny album! three weeks ago, we didn't know we were going to release this!

- in case you haven't seen the announcement elsewhere, the deadline for "don't quit your holiday job!" is july 1.


march 28, 2008! a skull-a-puter, not a mac

- finally, a new release: "screamfest", the debut from copenhagen's amazing body lotion and the bloody hands (in my opinion, one of the finest, most unique sugar-pop/anti-twee/horrorcore acts ever...)

- i haven't exactly been attending any workaholics anonymous meetings, but updates and releases are going to be sporadic for the time being. the "don't quit your holiday job!" compilation is progressing, and still very much open for submissions from pop bands (like you?).

- north american customers: the mighty asaurus records now carry the first five workaholics on holiday! releases in their distro.


november 23, 2007! the news today, oh boy...

so! we've altered things a bit. and two new releases (courtesy of the up set and the dear elaines) are ready to be pre-ordered! each release in the w-o-h! discography has its own info page now as well.

we've also set up a page - for you, projects/bands - with all the info we could think up, pertaining to the "don't quit your holiday job!" compilation.

september 18, 2007! compilation augmentation!

the other night, i attended the indie-pop show of the year - an event put on by our friends at kaninkanon. the festival and its eight bands reminded me that there are (still!) loads of charming, amazing, relevant lesser known indie pop acts out there. such acts are among the main reasons i do compilations and run labels at all. so...

may 30, 2007! forthcoming release(s)! airplay! melvis live!

things are progressing. slowly. currently, limited technological resources and money issues are delaying low fire's cd-r... but it is up n-e-x-t!

after that, the next woh! releases will be unleashed in the last few months of 2007. maybe one of those releases will be a pop compilation! i had otherwise decided - after ending bsbta and the subscribers' series - that i would never take on the sometimes thankless task of putting out another various artists cd-r again. but since there is a never ending flow of awesome pop artists deserving exposure (which woh! can offer, on an underground level; if that's too small for you, beat it ;-)), and... uh, yeah, we'll see!

the dear elaines has/have three as-yet-unreleased tracks up at his/their myspace. the new songs are a progression towards a higher fi, but, most importantly, still quirky and catchy as ever.

along with said elaines, melvis & the papercuts have received generous amounts of airplay on copenhagen's university radio station (if not others) - and we are very grateful for it.
